How to clean concrete pavers: Clean and sealing pavers

Nearly nothing is worse than having leaves smear your lovely pavers. Can I use some Windex to clean it? Should I spray it with bleach? Should I have the pavers replaced? All of these queries may be going through your head right now.

Leaf stains happen when leaves from plants or trees that are dying or that are in the fall fall onto your driveway, front door, or patio pavers, staining them. The good news is that organic stains like these can be avoided or reduced and are not irreversible.

You might choose to do nothing, accept it, and refer to it as "age." Yet, having leaf stains on a patio is similar to having a dirty kitchen floor, therefore here are three ways you may get rid of these stains.

1. Waiting. 80% to 100% of the stains will vanish throughout the course of the winter with snow and rain. Nature has a way of purging itself. Public concrete sidewalks in densely forested metropolitan areas that are never permanently discolored and actually appear clean by spring are evidence of this.

3. Cleansing. The surface can be thoroughly cleaned by washing it with dish detergent or a product like Simple Green Oxy, warm water, and a stiff bristle brush. Avoid disturbing the joint sand while using a pressure washer, and avoid pressing the trigger directly up against the surface. This could harm the surface. Every time you use cleaning products, evaluate a tiny area in a less noticeable place to make sure the results are satisfactory.

3. Security. The greatest protection is to constantly brush or blow the leaves off your paver surface in order to prevent the deep penetration of the staining substances. Installing pavers that have been pre-sealed in the factory with a surface protection, such as Easy Clean, is another technique to stop stains from penetrating the surface. You can also use an after-market sealer if the pavers you have don't already have one on.

All in all, following these recommendations should guarantee that your paver installation will provide you with many years of delight and use.
