What Can I Expect When Installing A Paver Driveway?

This is a great question, that we get asked all the time! When clients decide to install a paver driveway with us, we like to give them as much detail as possible. We understand that installing a paver driveway can be an overwhelming process and can interupt daily activities including; landscapers, contractors and parking. We do our best to make sure that we give you the most accurate installation timeframes so you can get back to your normal life and enjoy your new driveway!

The installation process needs to be extremely efficient. Our team here makes sure we are do what is needed to excavate, prep and install your paver driveway in a timely manner. For a medium sized paver driveway around 2000 square feet you are looking at approx 7 working days to complete - from start to finish.

Large Size Paver Driveway Installations

Now, if your driveway is larger than 2000 square feet, be prepared for your driveway  project to  take at least  7-10 days to complete. Driveways that are larger, take more time to prep, install and clean up.  Larger driveways normally take 3-4 days to excavate and prep, 3-4 days to install about 2 days to clean up and remove existing materials. Each paver company has different processes when it comes to installing paver driveways. When you meet with your hardscape contractor, make sure you ask him/her about the timeframe, if you are able to use your driveway during the process and exactly how long they think the process will take. These questions will help you plan accordingly, when it comes to scheduling other contractors, parking issues and completion dates.

How Long Will It Take To Install My Paver Driveway?

We know each clients driveway size and installation details are different. So when we are talking to homeowners about the longevity of their project we like to break it down by small, medium and larger size driveways.

Small Paver Driveway Timeframe

For a smaller sized driveways, which would be less than 1100 square feet, we would estimate that it should take the prep crews one to two days to take out the existing driveway, install the new base and prep the areas for the installation crews. The installation crew will follow about one day after the prep crew arrive and take one to two days to install. The clean up crew will follow up the installation crew and take about one day to clean up any existing debris. So in total, you would be looking at 5 working days from start to finish.

Medium to Average Size Pavers Driveway Installation Time

For a medium sized driveway, which would be approximately 1,100 square feet to 2,000 square feet, the total would be closer to 7 working days.

We like to tell our clients that the process usually takes 5-7 working days.  This includes approximately 2 days for the prep crew to take out the existing driveway and prep the base, 2-3 days for the installation crew to install the new driveway and then 1-2 days to clean up any excess debris. Now please keep in mind that this is for an average size driveway, which is approx 2000 sq.ft.
